Having a moment of self-reflection to understand your own limits is definitely a strong starting point for growth. I have found it has happened to me when I am asked a question that I cannot answer immediately, or when working in a deep flow state on something, and I hit a wall with an area outside my general expertise.
I’d advise take Buffet’s words in Wikipedia with a pinch of salt though (see below). It was intended as an investment advice. It might limit our growth as knowledge works if we stick with it:
“Buffett summarized the concept in the motto, Know your circle of competence, and stick within it.”
I agree it can limit growth if you refuse to learn new things. The key is knowing your boundaries: whether to expand your circle or to just borrow an expert's perspective.
Thank you for the shout-out!
Well deserved! You know I'm a huge advocate of writing :)

Thanks for sharing your experience, Colette!
I agree, and self-reflection is definitely a universal foundation for growth.
