Book Review: "On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction" by William Zinsser 4/5
I write a lot and the book made my writing better; it gives advice that helps with everyday work. The rules can be applied when doing any kind of writing and dedicated chapters help to focus on each one. There is a chapter on how to write reviews and I've just put it into practice for Goodreads.
William Zinsser highlights a lot of examples from American writers and this brings additional value to readers who are a bit more into the history of literature. For others, it might be too much - I enjoyed the examples, without paying much attention to the history and names.
My favourite takeaway from the book is that you don't have to use sophisticated words. Simple style does not reflect a simple mind - in fact it's quite the opposite.
