"The Laws of Human Nature" by Robert Greene 5/5
The laws presented by Robert Green help you to manage expectations towards people and yourself - you will be better at recognizing patterns in people’s behaviour. The ability to detect and name these laws around you makes the book really valuable and immediately applicable.
Each law is described together with stories of people who are all interesting characters from the past. These examples from history help you to process and remember the concepts presented. Some may argue that a story-based approach might be redundant and the laws could have been presented in a distilled version. I enjoyed these stories, for me they were an aspect that helped to process the laws.
Awareness of the laws come together with instructions for the reader on how to overcome negative behaviours and feelings. The book with all its guidelines helps not only to manage expectations towards others, but also with self-reflection.
